Ferrari has taken the wraps off its new mid-engined V8 replacement for the Ferrari F430. The new Ferrari 458 Italia will be officially revealed to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Besides sporting one of the coolest names for a Ferrari in recent memory the Italia will feature a new direct-injected 4.5-liter V8 motor, pumping out 562 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. The Ferrari F458 gets a flappy paddle seven-speed dual clutch gearbox and disappointingly it doesn’t look like a manual box is an option.
The exterior design by Pininfarina takes its styling cues from the Enzo and the Mille Chili eco-concept that was revealed a few years ago. Starting with the F360 and continued on the F430 Pinifarnina gives the rear end of the F458 a powerful sculptured look, check out the triple center exhaust pipes.
