Personally I still like the McLaren. The Veyron was built by Volkswagen for crying out loud. The McLaren was purpose built by a small team of automotive enthusiasts to be the greatest drivers car ever. The Veyron was built by corporate Volkswagen so they can sell more Beetles.

It’s the question that’s on everyone’s lips: which is the better hypercar – the Bugatti Veyron or the McLaren F1?
In suitably Octane style, we decided that the only true way to find the definitive answer is to invite an F1 owner along to a Veyron track test. And that’s why, on a cold, damp November day, Rowan Atkinson turned up in his McLaren F1 to try out the Veyron, and run them back-to-back. Hard.
